Daniel Newstead

Daniel Newstead is a committed, musician, producer and engineer currently completing a Bachelor of Music Technology at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University.

Growing up south of sydney in a small town, Daniel studied piano and music theory under Julliard School of Music (NY) graduate Vaila Mead. It was here that he completed his 8th grade in piano performance and 6th grade musicianship exams through the Australian music examinations board system, passing with distinction.

From here Daniel moved to Queensland where he played in numerous bands and had the chance to tour up and down the east coast of Australia as a professional drummer. This led to some support slots alongside visiting European bands in venues such as The Arena, and The Tivoli, while at the same time completing a Diploma of music (Technical Production) at South Bank Institute of Technology.
After completing his studies at Tafe, he was accepted into the Bachelor of Music degree at the Queensland Conservatorium and is now in his final year of the degree

Having a musical background in many styles, including Classical, Jazz, Hiphop, electronica, rock and metal, Daniel has a wide scope of experience to draw from when he is working alongside other artists, and is constantly blending elements of these genres to achieve a unique, yet catchy sound that can compliment lyrical and conceptual visions.

Alongside his current studies Daniel is working with a number of artists in Australia and overseas via the web as producer and collaborator. Other as well as providing musical and video services for the Manny Molecular Project.
